ACCA final 2026 legislative report now available
The Association’s “Goat Hill Final Report – 2026 Edition,” which outlines all new laws from the 2026 Legislative Session impacting county government, is now available here. As has become customary, the report features role-specific labels to help county leaders quickly identify the legislation most relevant to their responsibilities and includes bookmarked sections and direct links to the full text of each new act. Many of the laws included in the report will be further discussed through future ACCA educational courses and events, but in the meantime, all county leaders are encouraged to review the report in its entirety. County Commissions encouraged to select representative for ACCA 2026-2027 Legislative Committee
Attention, County Commission Members and Administrators! With the 2026 Regular Session of the Alabama Legislature now complete, it’s time for County Commissions to begin the process of selecting their representative for the 2026-2027 ACCA Legislative Committee. The work of the 67-member Legislative Committee is vital to the policy success of all Alabama counties, so each county is encouraged to nominate its most engaged and committed representative. ACCA bylaws require each county to submit the name of its chosen representative following approval by a majority vote of the Commission. For this reason, counties are urged to place this item on an upcoming Commission meeting agenda for a vote and, afterward, submit a completed version of this form to ACCA Policy and Member Services Assistant Lisa Fiore.
